About this resource

This interactive demo walks admins through setting up a dynamic certification, where each learner gets their own countdown deadline that starts when a trigger assigns the certification. Steps include navigating to Certifications under Learn, creating a new Dynamic Certification, entering a title and description, setting a Countdown Limit in the Timing tab, adding courses, publishing the certification, and then connecting it to a trigger so learners are automatically assigned the certification when the trigger fires.

Questions this resource answers

What is a dynamic certification?
A dynamic certification gives each learner their own deadline that starts counting down when a trigger assigns the certification to them.
How is a dynamic certification assigned to learners?
Dynamic certifications are not assigned to groups directly. A trigger assigns them automatically when it fires, such as when a learner is added.
What does the Countdown Limit control?
The Countdown Limit sets the number of days each learner has to complete the certification. The clock starts when the certification is assigned.
Does the certification need to be published before a trigger can assign it?
Yes. Only published certifications appear when searching in a trigger, so you must publish the certification before linking it to a trigger.
