About this resource

Before Learning Health metrics can display data, six settings must be configured: reporting lines to identify leaders, leadership development category flags on courses, compliance and ethics category flags, an L and D group marked 'Represents L and D' with full-time practitioners flagged as Dedicated Learning Practitioners, a manually entered total cost of learning per quarter, and goals with an assigned owner to track business impact. Two metrics—development plans and application of learning—show 'Not yet measured' and require no setup today.

Questions this resource answers

How does the platform identify who counts as a leader?
A leader is anyone with direct reports. Reporting lines typically come from your directory sync, or you can set a person's manager in Learn > Enrollment > Details.
How do I flag courses as leadership development or compliance training?
In Learn > Courses, open a course, click Manage Categories, and turn on the 'Leadership development' or 'Compliance and ethics' flag. A category can carry both flags.
How is FTE in L and D calculated?
Anyone in a group marked 'Represents L and D' counts as 0.5 FTE. People flagged as 'Dedicated Learning Practitioner' in their enrollment record count as 1.0 FTE.
How do I enter the total cost of learning?
Open the Total cost of learning metric on the scorecard, click 'Enter cost', and add one figure per quarter. This unlocks the cost per learner metric.
